and the death of Ossy Osborne
The extraordinary media reaction to the death of Ossy Osborne, the self-styled Prince of Darkness and lead singer with the rock group Black Sabbath, gives us a strong clue to the wasteland that the Main Stream Media (MSM) has made of Western Culture. Even King Charles had the Band of the Royal Guards play one of their hits, "Paranoid", outside Buckingham Palace. Despite being a Royalist myself I have often been dismayed by some of the actions of the Royal Family and even the Monarch, signing into law abortion. More and more homosexual rights, giving knighthoods to Mick Jagger and Elton John, to many, these actions seem scandalous. Of course, you can argue that it wasn't the Monarch that has decided upon these honours, but parliament. However, the Monarch can and does sometimes make their feelings known, but they did not do so in these cases, on these crucial moral and cultural signals.
Ossy Osborne is also being lionised throughout the MSM, on all media platforms worldwide. However, Osborne took drugs, looked and played the evil fend, and it is reported he bit the head of a live bat at a concert and a dove at a music executive meeting. His fans would throw dead animals on stage. It’s all very satanic and shocking, and of course, we hope he had time for a conversion before he died, and as Christians, we must pray for him if he has made it to purgatory. We are not judging the state of his soul at the point of death, only God can do that.
However, the sheer adulation for Ossy Osborne by the MSM is a clear indication of where we in the West are culturally, and it’s not in a good place. There are many indications that everything is being driven by the media, and not the Church or the monarchy, which more often than not fall into line behind the mediated lead. Could this be why abortion, homosexuality, and the ‘religion of peace’ are so accepted by virtually everyone outside of the small circle of devout Catholics? However, as Christians we know that Christ has won for us salvation already, all we have to do is follow Him and pray for our fellow man that they too will ultimately follow Him as well.
