Stolen Childhood pt.1

The Stolen Childhood (part 1)

Today most children in western society have all their needs, in material terms, met; and there is no longer malnutrition as there was in the past. Wrong nutrition probably continues. However they are suffering a new kind of deprivation, one that is part spiritual, part emotional and worst of all they are being gradually deprived of an actual childhood.
A generation or two ago most children grew up with  “stay at home” mums and often within an extended family, so they were among people with strong emotional ties. Also before the age of the screen there was considerable interaction between members of the family and children. There would be nursery rhymes; songs and other activities the children could participate in with adults. Another fact: there were more children around so not only had they siblings to play with, but their neighbours’ pals. I am not saying it was totally idyllic; poverty and deprivation were often rampant and children’s health often poor. But on the positive side they were with people and other children within a community and a family. They also importantly learnt how to interact with others and develop emotional responses. Most importantly they learnt how to communicate and the ability at a very young age to react to people of greatly varying ages. The electronic age has seriously jeopardised these communication skills.
Another important factor we have lost in our society is discipline. This is enormously important to children because it gave them a strong sense of security. Nowadays with the child centred philosophy in education and in the home there has been a decline in discipline. We of course don’t want to return to the harsh draconian implementation of discipline via corporal punishment or other unpleasant methods, but we do want to sanction unacceptable behaviour, which unfortunately is rife at home and in schools today. The chaos we find nowadays especially in schools is not only damaging to the child’s academic progress but also, more important, a child’s emotional development. Childhood has become more insecure which in turn will create more insecure adults.
Today we find ourselves in a society where children have become the victims of adults because those adults themselves never developed during their childhood. This manifests itself in their selfishness and the constant urge for self-gratification in today’s parents. They also treat children often very much as a child treats a doll; it becomes a possession, something that is an extension of their own vanity. Then through a sense of guilt they make every attempt to compensate the child with a myriad of material possessions. They again fail to understand the child’s real needs, so the cycle continues.
Many of these problems would be considerably helped if there was a return to religion, namely Christianity. However destructive modern life is to a child, Christianity provides a solution. It will also allow our children to join a community with values. It will also be the antidote for the pressure poured out by every section of the media for a hedonistic and totally selfish lifestyle, which destroys children and their childhood. Such hedonism stops parents enjoying the actual joy of bringing up children!
As a final thought we should stop forever using the TV or computer as an electronic baby sitter; we are losing the joy of interaction with our child and the child is being deprived.

Militant Secularism

Militant Secularism - induced by the Main stream Media
Militant Secularism is in the news at the moment with both Ann Widdecombe and Archbishop George Gänswine, the Prefect of the Papal Household, commenting on it. Archbishop Gänswine disclosed that there have been 414 recent registered attacks on Christians and Christian institutions in Germany. Ann Widdecombe claimed it’s easier to be a Nazi or a Communist in post-war Britain than a Christian. She went on to say that militant secularism is affecting Christians so much in this country that many are hiding their faith. I heard the interview with Miss Widdecombe on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Stephen Nolan’s show when she made these claims, and I can confirm that she is absolutely right having personally experienced many times attacks for being a Catholic let alone a Christian. I then heard an incredulous Nolan repeatedly interrupt her with the word ‘Militant’. ‘Militant’ - all I can say to this is Mr Nolan yes and you’ve just given an example of this militancy, for you and other BBC presenters are such a prime example of the militant secularists that you can’t see our own nose in front of your face even when you look in a mirror.

Ann Widdecombe, who became a Catholic in 1993, said: "Christians now have quite a lot of problems, whether it's that you can't display even very discreet small symbols of your faith at work, that you can't say 'God bless you', you can't offer to pray for somebody; if it's an even bigger stance on conscience that you're taking, some of the equality laws can actually bring you to the attention of the police themselves.’ She is absolutely right, but she didn’t say why Christians are finding it so difficult these days; perhaps she was just being polite, unlike Mr. Nolan. I doubt if I would have been so restrained. It is the BBC that has caused so many problems for Christians and especially Catholics. They are in a position to do so much good and yet fail every time. There’s no freedom of conscience any more.  Even in World War II one could be a conscientious objector, - see this article: Allowing Conscientious Objections is the Hallmark of a Civilised Society http://clearvisioncatholics.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/allowing-conscientious-objections-is.html It’s such a shame that so many of our brave soldiers died for these rights in two world wars only now to find we live in a politically correct dictatorship.

Miss Widdecombe went on to say "So I think it is a very difficult country now, unlike when I was growing up, in which to be a Christian, an active Christian at any rate."

"In the 1950s when plenty of people had lost lives and limbs and loved ones to the Nazis, it was still possible to be a Nazi in this country.

"When we were engaged in the height of the Cold War, when there were all those weapons lined up on the borders of the Warsaw Pact countries pointing straight at us, you could still, in this country, proclaim yourself as a Communist, you could still stand for Parliament for that matter as a Communist.

"You wouldn't get in but you could stand. You could sell the Morning Star on street corners.

"We have always respected, no matter how strongly we felt as a nation at the time, we've always respected the right of people to their own views and I do feel nowadays as a combination of political correctness and equality law and all the rest of it, we've started suppressing the expression of conscience."

Misreporting of the babies graves’ in Ireland for Militant Secular ends

The MSM continue to make it difficult for Catholics especially with the misreporting of babies’ graves in Ireland without really bothering to really find out the facts (as indeed the Irish media are).

"The Week" quotes reports from the Independent and from the Daily Mail, both very negative towards the mother and baby home in question, and from the Irish Independent, particularly negative towards the Church. It also quotes from Tim Stanley's "Telegraph" blog, more measured, and pointing out that "The Sisters of Bon Secours worked on a tiny government budget", and "were prepared to do something that the rest of the community would not - care, no matter how poorly, for unwanted children".

Why are the Irish press and TV so anti-Catholic? The simple answer is the secular media in all its forms are intrinsically evil. They will not engage in genuine investigative journalism when it comes to the Catholic Church on this matter or any other, they will misreport what happened and use this as another stick to beat the Church. One wild report said that the nuns were murdering babies this is of course ridiculous. The truth is now coming out all the deaths were registered and they took place over a long period of time. A time of poverty in Ireland when the people were close to starvation and people could not withstand sickness so well, there were also problems in Britain and many other parts of Europe we people going hungry.

Misreporting of the Savitra Halappanavar for Militant Secular ends

Another widely misreported piece of "information" - the cause of death of Savitra Halappanavar in Ireland. Although the official inquiry into her death confirmed that she died of septicemia and that an abortion would not have saved her life, it has been very widely reported that she died because the staff of the hospital in Ireland wouldn't perform an abortion.

The hospital was indeed at fault, for failing to recognise that she had septicemia and consequently failing to treat her for it, but not for refusing to abort her. And largely on the basis of this case, the law in Ireland has now been changed to allow abortion where the mother's life is deemed to be at risk, - including from suicide, and doesn't that open wide a door to abortion on demand.

Appearances on Slovak Catholic TV Lux

Whilst I was over in Slovakia recently to help with the post-production of EWTN-Lux’s latest documentary I was also able to give CUT and the Crusade of Prayer a plug on Slovak Catholic TV. People were surprised to hear I do not have a TV, so I was able to explain why and give examples of documentaries that have attacked the Church caused problems for Catholics. Slovakia still has a vibrant Catholic faith with queues for the confessional stretching around the church even on a week day. So I said, as much as I love my country I suggested that they should not look to Western Europe and Britain for cultural leads.

Media Texts

Spotting and Understanding Media Texts

Jaws logo and poster
Wikipeadia

First of all, what is a Media Text? A Media Text is not specifically a written column in a Newspaper although this can contain Media Texts. The standard way to explain a Media Text is that it is any constructed media product or piece of communication, whether audiovisual, TV film, social media, music or the printed word, which can be studied. Let’s take for example the 70s film Jaws and analyse what it is really about. This film, based on a book by Peter Benchley, was an allegory of post Vietnam and post Watergate America. The film’s director Steven Spielberg brought in a screenwriter to make the characters more acceptable to Hollywood.
As an allegory the film works thus. The fictional holiday resort Island Amity represents America. Its name is a play on friendship and America. It is being menaced by a man-eating Great White shark which represents communism. The town’s authorities, who try and cover up the problem, are weak and inept: they represent the post-Vietnam and post-Watergate American government. There are further deaths and the town is traumatized; the tourist industry, the life blood of the town, is threatened. It is left to the true spirit of American citizens and free enterprise to deal with the problem. These are represented by a lone police officer, a marine biologist and an old seaman turned shark hunter, who set out alone and eventually kill the shark after a dramatic battle with it.
This is a very short analysis of the main themes of Jaws as a media text. Suffice to say that there are elements of Jaws that are incompatible with Christian viewing such as nudity and gory violence.
There are, I believe, other forms of media text; these are flows of information and ideas that are generated by the media in a social engineering context. One is the term and idea of ‘homophobia’ and ‘homophobic bullying’. All forms of bullying are wrong, of course, and are unacceptable. I am using the term homophobia as a false media or media-promoted text as it is much in the news. But what is homophobia? It is of course a nonsense term and the use of homophobia or homophobic against anyone is a media text designed to bully anyone who suggests that homosexual acts are wrong, and intrinsically disordered, into accepting same-sex attraction as normal. The media has worked hard to make people accept the unnatural as normal.
The same cannot be said of the BBC’s treatment of race. Sadly, racism still exists in many sections of society. There is a telling lack of black and ethnic minorities at the BBC, for example, with the black comedian Lenny Henry vowing recently to lead a campaign for greater racial diversity on British television. There are still large areas of society where racism is acceptable, whereas perceived homophobia is unacceptable. It is extraordinary that something as natural as the colour of a man’s skin can be unacceptable while something as unnatural as homosexual acts is deemed acceptable. The problem here is that racism has not had the same amount of media attention as homosexuality; it has not become a media text. I do not think this strange dichotomy is what our service men and women fought for during WWII.

EU voters vote against morally defunct governments

UKip vote – was it all about Europe?

EU flag

As Catholics we are not part of a national church but a Church that transcends all boundaries, therefore the European Union debate does not always excite us quite so much as the average Brit. Perhaps only when there are laws coming from Brussels that seem to go against Traditional Christian principles on Life issues or Family values do we sit up and take note.
UKip on the other hand have based their success on being anti-European Union but is this all there is to it? Granted there has always been a large minority who are anti-European Union in this country, we are an Island race and would like to remain so but this does not account for UKip suddenly becoming the largest party from Britain in the European parliament, after all both Ukip and Britain’s membership of the EU have been in existence for a long time.
I believe there are pointers to the fact that UKip have picked up votes from the other parties because Ukip are perceived to support traditional moral values - the ground that used to be occupied by the Conservatives – until they became pro-‘Gay’ marriage and forced through this new law with the help of the Liberal Democrats (and Labour). The Conservatives are now 3rd, below Labour in MEPs - see For Gay Weddings but a Tory Funeral post last year. We predicted this would happen, for although the media fools most of the people most of the time they do not fool all the people all of the time to borrow from Abraham Lincoln. Quite simply the Conservatives have alienated a large minority of their voters who have gone over to UKip.
The Liberal Democrats have been all but been decimated, flying the LGTB flag over Whitehall earlier this year when the first same-sex marriage took place may have pleased their friends at the BBC but just occasionally people sit up and say ‘hang on this is not right’. People saw the Lib Dems as a centre party, politically and economically, however they have finally been exposed as the socially and morally left wing extremists they are and have always been. It was after all David Steel (later to be liberal leader) who brought in the motion to legalise abortion in 1967 strongly supported by the BBC at the time who produced a multi-level media platform in support of abortion. The BBC turned all its mediated weapons on the unborn using TV and Radio, news current affairs, interviews and drama to support the pro-abortion legislation. It’s just so good to see them get their comeuppance.
It’s not only in the Britain that this protest vote has happened France has seen a major swing against their government who brought in same sex marriage laws despite the millions of Catholics who protested in the streets of France against this un-natural law. Ireland too has seen their coalition decimated with voters turning against their government who despite the protests of the Irish people brought in abortion to one of the few places in Europe where Children were safe in the womb. God will not be mocked forever, these parties will fall if they do not amend their ways.

Microsoft, Linux and the Pro-Life movement

·        Given that all Catholics should be pro-Life by their very nature we thought you might like to know a little about computer programmes we use every day and which ones are ethical, and which ones are not.

Bill Gates - Wikipeadia

I think all Pro-Life people should use Linux. I had mine installed by an IT worker at the university. He basically charged me a mere £30, but with debugging that rose to £70. The programmes are of course free. There are different versions of Linux. You may have heard that Microsoft is going to withdraw servicing to Windows XP but that doesn’t mean you can’t still use it. In fact I have both Windows and Linux on my system, in case, as sometimes happens, there is something I can’t do on Linux. The Windows system was already installed, so there was no point in deleting it, as it was paid for a long time ago. Obviously if I was buying a completely new set-up, I would avoid Windows totally.
Please note that Hewlett-Packard systems are also to be avoided, as they give to pro-abortion causes. Mozilla Firefox, the web browser, also recently sacked it CEO for supporting traditional marriage. Please see this EWTN article on why Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard products are to be avoided if at all possible and they, along with the Rockefeller Foundation and the World Bank are directing billions into population control. http://www.ewtn.com/vexperts/showmessage.asp?number=418016 The link here shows that Bill Gates by 2004 had already donated $2.2 billion to population control

Eurovision

The Eurovision Song Contest and the New Cold War
In the sixties and seventies the Eurovision song contest was good clean family entertainment; a time when the old Cold War could be forgotten and Europe seemed united in the friendly rivalry of a song contest.  But those days have long gone for during the last decade or so it has become a big camp jamboree – a battering ram to crush the last vestiges of resistance to the media-promoted homosexual juggernaut broadcast across Europe and beyond. We understand that over 180 million watched this year’s Eurovision spectacle in 45 countries across the globe.

Conchita Wurst - Telegraph

The winner of this year’s contest, Conchita Wurst, is typical of the gender bending agenda of Eurovision in recent years. ‘Her’ real name is Tom Neuwirth who is openly homosexual and his stage name is typical of the ‘Gay’ obsession with sex and has phallic connotations. And as ‘she’ smiles sweetly through ‘her’ beard and makes grandiose statements about tolerance, respect and discrimination, we say hang on a minute, - 'she' and others like 'her' have created a new sphere of intolerance, disrespect and discrimination. Here’s one of Wurst’s statements to give you an idea: “I share the opinion that this was not a victory just for me but for the people who believe in a future that works without discrimination and is based on tolerance and respect. This transcends borders".
Wurst comes from Catholic Austria, a country that is still quite conservative, and there appears to be a large silent majority who are not happy with Wurst or the Eurovision win. The TV of course will show video clips of jubilation and of Wurst’s supporters sporting lookalike beards etc. But one populist news outlet, Krone, in an on-line poll found that only 23 percent of respondents were actually proud of Wurst’s achievements.
This year’s competition came from Denmark which declared ‘tolerance’ as the main theme for the event. The rainbow-coloured flags, the so called symbol of ‘Gay pride’ flew over many buildings in Copenhagen over the past week.
Some countries in Eastern Europe were not happy with this type of subversion being broadcast into their countries, and online petitions sprang up in many countries. Russia, whose government passed laws banning gay propaganda to minors, were particularly unhappy and as the Russians reached the final the so called ‘tolerant’ audiences of Eurovision booed the Russian contestants.
Wurst’s win, with the song ‘Rise like a Phoenix’, saw a Russian politician claiming that ‘this is the end of Europe’ and ‘It has turned wild. There are no more men or women in Europe, just it’.  So whilst western culture and free enterprise may have brought down the Iron Curtain with the help of St John-Paul II and Catholic Poland, western media excesses and selective intolerance are gradually creating a new Cold War, and all the work and suffering of Eastern European Catholics to bring about a safe Europe will be as nothing. Dare we ask: will the TV start World War III?

Tim Minchin Pope Song

Tim Minchin - Taking anti-Catholic bigotry to the level of pornography.
Today the media is often full of hate inducing extremism, especially directed at those who follow the traditional family values of the Catholic Church. At CUT we try and expose this whilst at the same time maintaining Christian charity. For without Charity we are but a noisy gong and without love we are nothing. As St Paul says, “Charity is patient, is kind: charity envieth not, dealeth not perversely, it is not puffed up.” 1 Cor.13:4. We must not however, just lie down and be trampled on. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear: but of power, and of love, and of Sobriety.” 2 Tim 1:7. We must not return like for like but we must know when and how to respond when to turn the other cheek, when to confront those celebrities who are inciting hated towards the Church and the secularising Pharisees within the Church. It is therefore our duty to respond, we say deprive those at the top of the secular media pyramid (the BBC) of funds and influence. By cutting off the head of the serpent the rest of him will die.

Tim Minchin singing Pope Song

Today we ask you as Crusaders – Prayer Crusaders to pray for Tim Minchin whose anti-Catholic, Pope Song is a frightening example of this anti-Catholic hatred. It was part media bandwagon leading up to the visit to Britain of Pope Benedict XVI in 2010. One would think that the response of British Catholics to the visit of the Pope, where hundreds of thousands turned out to welcome him would have been enough to show those Catholic haters we love the pope and our faith. But no it continues and Tim Minchin’s You Tube posting of Pope Song has and it is still attracting plenty of views - over a million each for two of the Pope Song postings. But the comments it attracts ... oh my goodness me. They are so awful one would think we are living in 1930s Nazi Germany. The song you understand has more expletives than any other word with word pope sometimes also appearing in the ‘lyrics’ just pure undiluted anti-Catholic hatred.
But why oh why on earth are we the butt of such extreme abuse – it’s quite simple the BBC and other secular channels have spent the last 15 years doing everything they can to stoke up this hatred. I could run a list of programmes which been carefully orchestrated on all BBC channels and indeed sometimes other stations like Channel 4. The reason being the BBC is pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, Pro-euthanasia, but anti-Catholic and likes to protect the established Church in this country and trying to bully the Catholic Church into changing her teachings. The BBC have produced programme after programme, news report after news report that have denigrated the Catholic faith and this has given encouragement to the bigots. Here is just a few, for despite the fact that that throwing condoms at AIDS infected populations in Africa have made the situation worse they made programmes like Sex and the Holy City and Can Condoms Kill? See BBC's Panorama's Sex and the Holy City revisited This distorted the facts and ignored the evidence that Catholic countries that follow the teachings of the Church have far lover AIDS rates than non Catholic. It was as deceitful a campaign that the BBC has run. Then there were many programmes on child abuse in the Catholic Church, up until last summer about 45% of their coverage was directed at the Catholic Church despite the fact that only 0.1% actually took place in the Catholic Church. And also ignored fact that the few cases that did take place in the Catholic Church were mainly committed by homosexuals that have managed to get into the priesthood. If this is not deliberate distortion to create anti-Catholic hatred then I do not know what is.
Let us return to Tim Minchin and his Pope Song, there are no lyrics to the song just a series on expletives with the words Pope, Jesus, His Mother and child abuse occasionally mentioned. Perhaps you may say we should ignore these as juvenile antics, but being puerilel to them is an artform, and they dare you to attack it. However, it is not being ignored by millions of people who approve of this form of bigotry and are having their Anti-Catholic bigotry massaged and inflated. Below is a link to the song just to let you see the comments they are very very scary and remember a year or so after Minchin did this song he was invited on the Royal Varity Show!
Content Warning
I cannot put this link up without giving a warning that the song contains extreme bad language and I would suggest that ladies do not open the link. The song is obviously under the influence of the Devil and it contains blasphemy against Jesus and Our Lady. If you do open the link say a prayer of exorcism such as the prayer to St Michael the Archangel before you do so. Tim Minchin singing Pope Song
Adopting a Celebrity
How can we over come such extreme blasphemous hatred? The answer is quite simple by charity and prayer so please pray for Tim Minchen and people like him. Remember our tactics for spiritual combat we pray for our enemies especially those in the world of celebrity. If you are a member of CUT you have adopted a celebrity and pray for their conversion, perhaps someone would like to adopt Tim Minchin? In the mean time we ask all Prayer Crusaders to pray for him.
1. We pray for his health and happiness, especially for his spiritual heath, and for the wellbeing of his family.
2. We pray for his success but that he turns away from a career of in inciting hatred and blasphemy to one of inspiring love and charity.
3. Most of all we pray for his conversion to the Catholic faith, that he may become a strong and faithful orthodox follower of Jesus in the Church that Christ Himself founded.
No greater act of charity can we give to Tim Minchin than to pray for his conversion. For we love our enemies and pray for them.  No greater gift can we give him then to pray he turns to God. No greater peace can he have than the love of God.
