·         BBC screen yet another documentary on child abuse in the Catholic Church.

On Monday 10^th June the BBC screened yet another documentary on child abuse in the Catholic Church.  Mea Maxima Culpa is described in glowing terms by the Guardian-on-line as a muck-raking documentary and essential viewing. Of course we are ashamed that there has been any abuse and cover up in the Church, and the Church must be careful who they allow into the priesthood.  One thing is clear: the vast majority of abuse in the Church has been perpetrated by homosexuals - 80%.  What the Guardian does not mention is that the abuse here was homosexual in nature; perhaps they should actually be making documentaries on homosexual child abuse. However, it is still only the Catholic Church that they are making these muck-raking documentaries about.  As our Prayer Crusader, St Gerard stated in his article for Clear Vision in May, there have been 37 historical cases of child abuse in the Catholic Church, roughly the same as in the Church of England, and far less proportionately to secular society; but it seems as if there has been a documentary made on each of these and hardly any on other sections of society.

            The BBC themselves have a serious problem with child abuse within its own ranks which make any problems in the Church pale in comparison. To continue to make documentaries on the Catholic Church whilst at the same time ordering their employees not to talk about the abuse problem at the BBC is the height of hypocrisy; should the BBC start to address the child abuse epidemic in their own house and in other sections of society as well as the Church? Perhaps a documentary or 20, on child abuse within the homosexual community, asking questions as to why children are so attractive to those with same-sex attraction?

            Catholics should understand that the Reformation is not over. We are still being victimised and abused and even beaten up in modern Britain for our faith. The secular media and in particular the BBC are using similar tactics to the dishonest propaganda of the so called Reformers.

The Golden Thread of Faith is a documentary mini-series on the history of the Catholic Church in Wales. It tells a story hardly ever told: that for the majority of its existence Wales was Catholic, and happy to be so, - a fact ignored or downplayed by the media. But this could be any country that was once Catholic but had its faith taken from it by the so called Reformers.

This is one of the reasons that I approached EWTN with a concept for the documentary series. Besides the fact that the Catholic history of Wales is a story seldom told, it is such a fascinating story, full of the romance, wonder and spirituality of the Celtic world and yet it is a true story. Most surprising of all perhaps is that a major part of this story is Catholic. Another reason was that the Celtic Church of the sub-Roman era is today once again being portrayed as either schismatic or even, proto-protestant, - a trick one used by Protestants of the Reformation. Again, this is simply not true; the Welsh had a great loyalty to the successor of St Peter, the Pope. They used Latin for the Mass and when one looks at the inscriptions on the Celtic Crosses they are in Latin, as are the magnificent Celtic Gospel books like the book of Chad or the Book of Kells.

            I wanted in this documentary to explore the sheer richness of Catholicism in the history of Wales. EWTN were very interested and could see the potential. However, it was clear that it would need a partner or two as the series would be made away from EWTN’s USA base.  The partners would provide some of the finance and technical skills. The series was quite ambitious and would include location shots, interviews, graphics, maps, illustrations and several docu-drama sequences. EWTN already have an excellent marketing and promotional organisation in Britain called St Clare Media who would act as the senior partner. And as I am a member of the Latin Mass Society of England and Wales (LMS) it was natural for me to approach the Society and ask them would they like to be co-producers. This meant putting up half of the finance but had the advantages of publicity for the LMS and the Traditional Latin Mass, which they agreed to. The technical side of the project would be provided by Lux Communications and Lux TV of Bratislava, Slovakia. Lux TV was set up by the Bishops’ Conference of Slovakia after the fall of Communism. In the nineties some members of TV Lux were sent to the USA to train in TV production.

documentaries have! - so we had to double up on our production disciplines. I would provide the screenplay, graphics, illustrations etc and be the producer/presenter and also the van driver - really a general dogsbody, but it was fun. Marek Polacek of Lux Communications was the director, and doubled as sound man, assistant editor and translator. Michal Benko of Lux Communications was the cameraman/editor and also produced a limited amount of animation for some of the graphics and maps. Michal is also an excellent cook which kept some semblance of civilisation during our mad dash around Wales filming in a campervan.

Although I am not Welsh I have lived in Wales for many years and became aware of its rich Catholic history. I was born in Cornwall (known as Kernow in Cornish) which was also once known as West Wales and is situated in the far south west of England. The Cornish and the Welsh originated from the same Romano-British Christian peoples who were left after the Roman legions were recalled to Rome in AD410. Therefore, I was keen to weave in some events from Cornish Catholic history, such as the Prayer Book Rebellion of 1549. The Cornish rebelled against their Protestant overlords due to the banning of the Latin Missal and the imposition of the English Book of Common Prayer. Subsequently, they were brutally suppressed and many of their priests were hanged, fully vested, from their steeples.

            The first episode of the series starts as we finish the final episode with the annual LMS pilgrimage to St Winefride’s Holy Well in North Wales. It was providential that this year the LMS had

secured Bishop Rifan of Campos as the celebrant so we had a Traditional bishop and a Pontifical High Mass to film. We then cut-back to Roman times and the invasion of Britain. An important factor is that the Romans removed the druids who were the pagan priestly cast of the Celts. The druids had galvanised the resistance to the Romans and had a strong hold over the people with their superstitious practices and most importantly human sacrifice. To tell this story we were lucky to secure the services of a Roman re-enactment group called the Roman Military Research Society. We also managed to film at a reconstructed Roman fort called The Lunt near Coventry in the English midlands. There we filmed a reconstructing of the martyrdom of Ss Julius and Aaron, the proto-martyrs of Wales, and a limited reconstruction of the Boudiccan revolt. Toward the end of the first episode were able to discuss the coming of the Anglo-Saxons and who King Arthur really was - if he existed - and the Age of the Celtic Saints. An important point I wanted to make was that the Celtic Church was in fact Catholic. They used Latin for the Mass and liturgy and were very loyal to the Pope in Rome. This tends to be glossed over these days almost as if the Celtic Church was proto-protestant or schismatic. However, when one sees the Latin inscriptions carved into Celtic crosses and the beautifully illuminated Celtic Bibles all written in Latin, it makes you understand the strength of the loyalty Celtic Catholics had for Rome.

EWTN is the biggest religious broadcasting channel in the world; it has an audience of 150 million. I urge Catholics to get involved and support this channel. The world is full of secular channels which unashamedly push and promote their nefarious agendas; we must pray for them, and at the same time support our own. I would never encourage anyone to get a TV live just to watch EWTN because you would need to pay a licence fee which will fund the very channels that are doing so much damage.

            The first episode of Wales the Golden Thread of Faith goes out on EWTN tonight the 11^th June at 9pm in the UK. This chronicles from Roman time to the age of Saints. The second episode will be broadcast on 12^th June and covers the thousand year span from the Age of Saints to the Reformation.  The final episode, from the Reformation to the present day, will be on Thursday 13^th, all at 9pm. It is difficult these days to speak out for the truth on homosexual acts; the media and the extremely active homosexual lobby have conditioned the majority of people into accepting what is ultimately a very dangerous life-style. Even to the point that to challenge the homosexual life-style is deemed to be very wrong, hurtful and homophobic. But we must never lose sight of the fact that homosexual acts are against natural law and are expressly forbidden by the Church and the Bible; and as we pointed out in last week’s blog very dangerous to those who indulge in these acts.

It is strange therefore that many Protestant sects and even those who are considered part of the mainstream Established Churches are now making provisions for practising homosexuals. It is so difficult to put this Genie back in the bottle, with the Church of Scotland allowing Gay ministers and also many in the Church of England wanting Gay marriages to take place in Churches. The recent statements from the Anglican bishop of Salisbury compared the opponents of  Gay Marriage to slave owners; how he worked that one out is a bit peculiar to say the least. Here is a quote from the Telegraph with a link to his letter:

“This week the Rt Revd Nicholas Holtam, Bishop of Salisbury, wrote a letter that was published in this newspaper [The Telegraph] why  gay marriage is a good and Christian thing. His argument is that theology evolves along with society, that “sometimes Christians have … to rethink the priorities of the Gospel in the light of experience.” As proof of the evolution of morality he cites the example of slavery: “before Wilberforce, Christians saw slavery as Biblical and part of the God-given ordering of creation”. As pointed out by Tim Stanley in his Telegraph blog of June 6^th, this is an error of historical understanding, - slavery was condemned by at least four Popes, long before Wilberforce’s day.

It seems very odd indeed that many Protestant sects which proclaim their authority comes directly from the Bible seem to be ignoring many of its teachings. Perhaps one day they will cease to have their beliefs based on anything scriptural at all, and may become different religions entirely. The reasons why this is happening is, of course, (firstly) the media and especially secular TV with its constant depiction of the human state as nothing more than multi-sexual orientated; and (secondly) that these sects have cut themselves off from the one true Church. Even here we are not completely immune from the ravages of the pro-Gay secular media; - the so called Soho Masses are an example of this. We therefore urge all Catholics, especially the hierarchy, to keep their eyes on the Gospel and not on the TV.

Is there something in the water at the BBC?

There are now more that 152 allegations of child abuse made against 81 BBC employees at the BBC. Half of these still work there. And the BBC has ordered their employees not to talk to the media. Does this smack of a cover-up on a monumental scale? This is the organisation that brings in members of Stonewall as moral pundits for their radio phone-ins.  Some of Stonewall’s members are campaigning to have the age of consent lowered especially for homosexual acts. This is the organisation that has a partnership with the IPPF. This is the organisation that gets its money for free!

On Whit Monday, 20 May, the Church of Scotland agreed to allow sexually active homosexuals to become Ministers. The Church of Scotland! Whatever one thinks of its stance towards the One True Church, the Church of Scotland had a long history of almost ferocious commitment to the moral teaching of the Bible. John Knox must be turning in whatever place he now finds himself.

   Given the recent revelations about Cardinal Keith O’Brien who admitted to improper sexual behaviour even as a Cardinal, the melt-down and disgrace of Christianity in Scotland is pretty complete. Indeed, the true weakness of Christianity in the UK was revealed by the relative lack of attention paid by the media to the shocking news about the Church of Scotland - although it was the same day that the House of Commons passed the second reading of the infamous homosexual ‘marriage’ bill.

   Let us be clear (ladies look away now): the three main sexual activities available to homosexual men are sodomy, fellatio and mutual masturbation – there are other more arcane practices over which we shall draw a veil. Sodomy, of course, is the single most dangerous sexual activity known to man, and was so before the advent of AIDS – it being a prime source of hepatitis and various viral and bacterial infections, not to mention good old-fashioned VD.

   And now this behaviour is to be welcomed into the ministry of the Church of Scotland and, in effect, blessed as a God-given and God-affirming activity.

   Other things being equal, the consequence of sexual intercourse between man and wife is the disease-free conception of new life. The consequence of unprotected anal intercourse is utterly sterile and a high risk of deadly disease. That is why immoral (and publicly-funded) ‘charities’ like the Terence Higgins Trust publish eye-wateringly explicit guides to anal intercourse which read like the preparations for an assault course given the number of precautions to be taken before intercourse is attempted.

   And what if any of these precautions should fail? What if a condom (extra-strength only with plenty of ‘lube’) should split or the rectal lining should be torn (it being very delicate and not designed for this sort of activity) – why the advice of the Terence Higgins Trust is to get yourself to Accident and Emergency immediately because the consequence of the introduction of another man’s ‘body fluids’ into the rectum may well be life-threatening. So much for an activity smiled on by God.

   To add insult to injury, the Terence Higgins Trust informs us that no one should feel shy of rushing for treatment because it’s all completely free, for life if necessary. Phew, thank the Lord for the NHS where other people pay the cost of your immoral and dangerous activity.

Church of Scotland allows homosexually active ministers - and no denomination is safe

   The Church of Scotland has stipulated that its homosexually active ministers should be in a civil partnership, presumably hoping that this will mitigate against promiscuity and disease;  however, a study by Bell and Weinberg showed that 66 per cent of homosexual ‘couples’ had sex outside their relationship within a year and 90 per cent did so within five years.

   So there we are: a ‘mainstream’ Christian organisation has decreed that sodomy is now a heart-warming and God-approved activity between two individuals of the same sex.

   Can we leave the Church of Scotland to stew in its own juice? Unfortunately not. Significant parts of other Christian denominations are pawing at the ground to go down the same route, not least the Erastian and theologically-deranged Church of England. And sadly there is a vocal minority within the Catholic Church which also wants to promote homosexual activity as merely an aesthetic choice.

   This is part of the wider push in the secular world to enshrine the transformation of sexuality, begun in the 1960s, in law. A prime consequence is bound to be the explicit teaching of this new sexuality in schools and a determined effort to ensure that Church schools of all denominations also teach the new sexuality. I regard all assurances that Church schools will not be required to teach what they do not believe as worthless. Our increasingly intolerant ‘tolerant’ state will not allow institutions to opt out of the new ‘morality’.

   Given the finding of the recent National Census that Christianity in the UK is in freefall (only partly masked by the arrival of large numbers of Christian immigrants over the past 20 years) we have to admit that to all intents and purposes the Christian nation of Great Britain is dead. And given the horribly low quality of some of our bishops and functionaries the only hope is a miracle and/or the intervention of Our Lady.

   However, with the exponential rise in the Muslim population – young, with many children and aggressive – it is likely that they will be the dominant religion within a couple of generations, and that Islam will be the only religion with which the secular state feels it has to deal.

   Given Islam’s well known intolerance of homosexuality and dislike for the ‘core values’ promoted by liberal secularists the stage is set for a mighty and potentially violent confrontation in which Christianity will be a sideshow, obsessed with the rights of sodomising ministers, ‘inclusion’ and Fairtrade coffee.

   And when Muslim discrimination against Christians really gets going in 20 to 30 years time I suspect we shall see our ‘gay’ ministers and brethren melt away like dew in the blazing sun.

Nowadays marriage seems to be out of fashion . Everyone talks about “partners”, which I personally find a ghastly word to describe a loving relationship. So often I hear in strident terms someone describing his or her loved one as my partner, it makes me cringe.

But we must understand why marriage is no longer a la mode. It is because we have now entered an infantile age. Society has regressed to a level of pre adolescence almost to the dummy stage of childhood. Adult autonomy, responsibilities and a sense of duty to others have been discarded by the masses. The state has become the real parent aided and abetted by the large corporations who require a “battery chicken “ consumers. These two great pillars of our society the enormous state and the all-embracing corporations are aided and abetted by the chattering classes of the liberal elite who wish to maintain their position as the purveyors of social engineering. To these groups marriage is anathema  because marriage is what grown up people do. They certainly do not want grown up people because ultimately they are so much more difficult to control. Marriage also symbolizes both old secular values with a deep connection to our Christian tradition and belief. Our present social engineers wish to remove all traces of religious belief and old traditional values. They are desperate to do this because if they fail to do so their tin pot Utopia will never come to pass. This Utopia means a society without family life as we know it , but one constructed for the benefit of large corporations and the state .

The concept of Marriage encompasses all that is good in human society that is why it is one of the Sacraments in our Christian faith

Marriage means an unselfish devotion to another person. Marriage means love not the sort of love that is heard in a million pop songs but the totally unselfish love of a mother looking after a sick child or a husband supporting his wife through the daily stresses and strains of bringing up a family. Marriage is for life not something likely discarded like most things in our consumer chuck away society. Marriage means the autonomy of establishing a family with it’s own values that may not coincide with the selfish self-centered desires of our consumer society. Marriage means loving and understanding both the strengths and vulnerability of our spouse. Marriage means two people developing each others each through their joint skills and life experiences Marriage is ultimately a spiritual journey for two people who have declared publicly their love for each other by taking the vows that constitute marriage before God

That is why all of us here must try our best to support the wonderful institution of marriage. If we live in a society that ultimately wants to destroy marriage we must fight against it not only for our preservation but that of generations to come. Any tampering with marriage and family life by the social engineers who call themselves  “progressives” must fought against otherwise our society will descend into a new barbarism . Marriage and family life is the only cement to bind society together , when everything is forcing fragmentation of that society.

As a boy in the sixties I first became aware of the soap opera. When on parade as a sea cadet a fellow cadet who had ‘fallen-in’ late couldn’t wait to tell his friend, and anyone who would listen, that Mrs Richardson was dead. Concerned about my fellow cadet’s agitation I offered him my condolences and asked who Mrs Richardson was. Becoming slightly incredulous he said that she was the owner of the Crossroads motel on television. What struck me was that this boy was talking about characters in a soap opera as if they were real; that this was like a surrogate family or life he led in front of the television whose narrative he was carrying into his everyday life. The viewers of soaps become so emotionally evolved with the characters that they become an important part of their lives, people whom they really care about. What the producers do with the characters and the storylines they introduce around them and the empathy generated towards the characters have the power to radically change the audience’s views and beliefs. This fact became apparent to the broadcasters from very early on in the soap opera in Britain.
        What is surprising is the sheer longevity of the soaps. The longest running is The Archers, (1951 to present), on BBC Radio. At first its narrative agenda was directed at farmers and reflected government recommendations, ideas and regulations regarding farming policies. Today its narrative agenda along with that of other soaps has

radically changed. Coronation Street (1960 to present), was the first soap to focus on the urban working class which was much in vogue at the time of its launch along with kitchen sink dramas in British film. However, it soon toned down its ‘anger’ and became a great success. It wasn’t until the advent of EastEnders and Brookside in the eighties that it started to use the more challenging social themes.
        It was however, Emmerdale, a rural drama, which first featured a lesbian as a long-term permanent fixture and to make to make this person more acceptable, she was the vet. Using the acquired capital of past vet dramas like All Creatures Great and Small (a popular vet TV mini-series of the 70s) the producers were able to manipulate the collective memory of viewers. It always strikes me as odd how people who have never seen a homosexual kiss in real life are prepared to accept it in a televised drama at peak family viewing time right in their front room sitting with the rest of their family.
            The television is a very powerful tool for subversion. We sit in awe of its technical ability, its famous celebrities who do not need to answer to us but simply dictate a narrative. The soap opera with long running story lines and characters that have gained our support, empathy and trust over many weeks, months, even years, can persuade their audiences that whatever they get up to they are not really so bad. The creator of Brookside (and also the school soap Grange Hill) was Phil Redmond, who said ‘I wanted to ... explore social issues, and hopefully contribute to any continuing social debate’ (quoted McCready, Phil Redmond’s Brookside: The Official Companion, 1987).  EastEnders and Brookside have been particularly adept at social engineering, challenging the nation’s attitudes to socio-political issues such as abortion, unemployment, homosexuality, infant mortality, and AIDS (as long as it didn’t involve a homosexual). I once watched EastEnders for several months as a study and I was bewildered by the sheer aggressive rudeness of many of the characters, the humourless, depressing storylines, the extraordinary cliff-hangers every episode to keep people watching.
       But what happened to Mrs Richardson you may ask? Actually she wasn’t dead after all but went on running the motel for many years to come despite its wobbly walls.

revolting sexual abuse committed by priests. In fact I feel that the Catholic Church has apologised and suffered enough for the crimes of a small minority, and of course the failure of our hierarchy to buck the societal trends of the era in question by publicising these crimes.

There are always reasons why organizations cover things up and prefer to deal with matters internally. Firstly is the fear of bringing the entire organization into disrepute and undermining public trust. Secondly is the fear of being singled out for vitriol in a culture where coverup is the norm. Thirdly is the need to avoid distractions which could hinder them from getting on with the job in hand. And fourthly is of course the tremendous financial cost of admitting ‘vicarious liability’, which requires superiors to take responsibility for the actions of those under them- even if they were in no reasonable position to prevent the behaviour in question.

We can see by the millions of pounds of what is effectively ‘plate money’, along with the generous legacies of the deceased and philanthropic donations over many years, being swallowed up by abuse claims, that it is not the paedophiles who are compensating their victims from their own funds. This money, which was donated to further the necessary and wide range of good work to be done by the Church, is being extracted from us at an alarming rate.

Research done by the author into abuse which has taken place in state run British care homes, such as St Leonard’s in Tower Hamlets, reveals that local authorities have been far less generous in compensating victims of abuse. They have also been equally if not more reluctant to expose their own employees who have been accused of abuse (and indeed far more capable of protecting them due to their closeness to the Police and Judiciary). More will be said about this later.

The notion that we Catholics must ‘pay’ (financially and through a loss of our personal dignity) for this spate of child abuse is widespread. But is child abuse in the Church really the huge, widespread problem that it has been made out to be by media organizations such as the BBC?

We will answer the above question in relation to the United Kingdom, as every country has its own differences in

terms of Catholic population, law enforcement etc. We will also bear in mind that it is the BBC, which broadcasts worldwide at this point in history, which has given what can only be described as a totally disproportionate amount of attention to historic abuse in the Catholic Church.

The first statistic that I will refer to is the result of a search that I made on the BBC News website in March 2013 for the term ‘sex abuse’. I examined the first 100 results of the search. Of these no fewer than 45 related to the Catholic Church. One might assume this would indicate that a similar percentage of abuse cases involve the Catholic Church, or alternatively that some new scandal had broken out recently and therefore the issue was receiving a high level of media coverage. Sadly neither of these possibilities is applicable as the main story in the Church at this time was the papal election.

The next statistic I will draw your attention to is the actual number of Clergy in the UK who have actually been convicted of sexual abuse. According to the Channel 4 news website there are just 37. Channel 4 are well known among those of us who study the media as being hostile to Catholicism, but even they could not disguise this fact, although they claimed it was probably ‘the tip of the iceberg’. As a percentage of the total number of priests in the UK, which I believe is around 6000 at this moment in time (although it is difficult to calculate as the abuse cases happened over a very long period of time during which many priests will have retired and been replaced) this is less than half of one percent.

Now we will move on to some data about the number of registered paedophiles in the UK, which I obtained from the NSPCC website. The NSPCC obtained figures under the Freedom of Information Act which showed there are 29,837 registered sex offenders who have committed crimes against children. As a percentage of these, Catholic priests make up just over 0.1%.

So, from what we have seen so far, the data seems to point to a conclusion which flies in the face of the amount of media coverage that the abuse in the Catholic Church has received. To sum up: the BBC devotes almost half of its coverage of sexual abuse to the Catholic Church, yet Catholic clergy make up just 0.1% of cases!

Now that we have established the facts (which you can research for yourself if you doubt my integrity) we will move on to ask the burning question: why is the Catholic Church being victimised and vilified by the media? I will offer some thoughts on this.

Secular society has a massive child abuse problem

Firstly, the UK has a massive problem with child abuse and child pornography. As we can see in the news currently there is the case of up to 80 staff and former staff at state run children’s homes in North Wales being named as possible abusers. We also have the case of Mark Bridger, the man responsible for the death of April Jones, who had been looking at child pornography prior to her disappearance.

Good people are quite rightly living in terror of this epidemic of filth which has afflicted society through the internet, and the total failure of the authorities to prevent the dissemination of all kinds of vile pornography into millions of UK households. Everybody is now a potential paedophile, children are sexually assaulting one another after viewing explicit online material, and even decent, respectable people are giving in to the lure of online perversion.

Society has such a big problem, but this is counterbalanced by the sheer economic dependence that we have on the internet and our love of the freedom to do what we like in our own homes. The reality is that children are at risk like never before, but this risk is largely preventable. In other words the people who have failed to act (whether politicians, police or parents) to protect children from the internet are corporately responsible for a form of child abuse.

BBC, Savile and Scapegoating – pointing the finger at someone else

What do people do when they cannot face up to their own failings? They tend to point out the failures of others. This is commonly known as ‘scapegoating’. Even Mark Bridger is serving a purpose in this regard, because all of those other men and women who look at online filth can point the finger at somebody else who is far more evil than they. The parents who allow their children to have computers and mobile phones may sleep a little better at night knowing that this dangerous man is in police custody, but do they ever consider that their own child may be viewing similar images?

British society has been hostile to Catholicism for hundreds of years. Our establishment is still in collective denial of the utter theft of huge amounts of church property, and murder of Catholic faithful under orders from the crown. Our way of life (as it ought to be) is almost totally at odds with the culture of modern Britain: abortion, gay marriage, contraception, sex before marriage, militant atheism, the ‘multi faith’ approach, agressive feminism, unfettered capitalism. It is no wonder that our opponents seek to discredit us at every opportunity (a well rehearsed tactic in the world of politics), because they feel threatened at having their wickedness exposed. Indeed, even the very existence of Catholicism in Britain is a stubborn reminder of the bloody history of the Reformation and its ultimate failure. Make no mistake: if they could have wiped us out they would have.

Of course, the difficulty with discrediting people by bringing up their misdemeanours is that you must be squeaky clean yourself. If you happen to be guilty of the faults you expose in your opponent then you are treading on thin ice. One could only laugh at the embarrassment caused to the BBC by the Jimmy Savile scandal and their attempt to sweep it under the carpet. It was not surprising, however, that they should seek to divert attention elsewhere which they promptly did by intensifying their coverage of the Catholic abuse scandal in a manner that was so blatant as to lead to a shocking 45% of their sex abuse news coverage being devoted to the stories.

BBC neo-Nazi tactics against Catholics

At this point we must draw a parallel with the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany. They were scapegoated by the political establishment as a means of hiding its own failings. Jewish bankers were blamed for what was ultimately the failure of the government to control inflation after the First World War. In the same way now the British establishment, using its propaganda machine (the BBC) is seeking to convince the public that the Catholic Church is responsible for the epidemic of child abuse.

            We cannot take this lying down. When a single scandal involving up to 80 abusers in North Wales is now being exposed (double the total number of Catholic priests ever convicted in the whole of the UK over the same period) we should begin to sit up and wonder why Social Workers are still allowed to go around lecturing parents on how to bring up their children.

Further up the pyramid, why have government ministers never been held to account for the shocking level of abuse in Council run care homes in the same way as the BBC have tried to hold the Vatican responsible for abuse by priests? There are many, many cases of abuse committed by public servants under the watch of successive Prime Ministers which will never see the light of day due to the totally hypocritical ‘tight ship’ mentality which seeks to protect the legitimacy of governments.

We Catholics must stop being ashamed and start realizing that we are the victims of a massive propaganda machine which is simply attempting to discredit us because we are getting in the way of them imposing a form of totalitarianism upon society, and because as a minority they think we can be scapegoated to cover up their own failings. The biggest danger is that we Catholics actually fall for all of this and give up our faith, leaving an ever smaller number of committed faithful to be whittled down and finally openly persecuted. There is strength in numbers and we must be proud of who we are instead of running around trying to please people who will always want to belittle and abuse us however hard we try to compromise.
